Chevrolet has issued a voluntary recall and stop-sale for certain Corvette Z06 and ZR1 models due to a potential fire risk during refueling.

What’s the issue?
On 2023–2026 Corvette Z06s and 2025–2026 ZR1s, the radiator and fan setup on the left side of the car can blow spilled fuel from the filler pocket toward the engine. If the fuel contacts an ignition source, a fire could occur.

Models affected:

  • Corvette Z06: 2023–2026

  • Corvette ZR1: 2025–2026

Other variants, including Stingray and E-Ray models, are not impacted.

Manufacturer statement:
The company notes that this condition is rare and may be influenced by malfunctioning fuel-pump nozzles. A permanent fix is being developed, but safety remains the top priority.

Interim guidance for owners:

  • Always fully insert the fuel nozzle when refueling.

  • Do not top off the tank after the pump automatically shuts off.

  • Ensure the engine is turned off while refueling.

Planned fix:
Dealers will install an insert or shield to redirect any spilled fuel away from the cooling fan and hot engine parts. This part is still in development but will be installed once available.

Stop-Sale order:
Dealers have been instructed not to sell the affected vehicles until the repair has been completed.
